Getting to know you – meet Tracy Hess

Our “Getting to Know You” segment ensures PREDICT members are aware of new members, their interests and areas of expertise and where they are located.

This month we introduce Tracy Hess from the Mackay Hospital and Health Service.  Tracy says:

“I am a Clinical Research Nurse and work in Mackay Institute of Research and Innovation (MIRI) which is part of the Mackay Hospital and Health Service.  I provide clinical trial support to PIs for all our Anaesthetic Clinical Trials.  Within the anaesthetic department we have developed a Trial Tribe of junior doctors.  My role is to educate and support them to complete daily clinical trial work, such as recruitment of participants, data collection and follow up, ensuring they adhere to trial protocols.  My research passions are anaesthetics, emergency and paediatrics. It is exciting to be involved in research in a such a practical way, contributing to the advancement of health and wellbeing for our consumers”.

Tracy loves to dress up as you will see from her accompanying photo.  Here she is promoting the Paediatric Emergency trial: UNIKORN: One-Needle Approach to Paediatric Procedural Sedation using Ketamine: a randomised control trial.

Welcome to PREDICT Tracy.
