Meredith Borland is a paediatric emergency physician and the Director of Emergency Medicine at Perth Children’s Hospital in Perth, Western Australia. She was a founding member of the PREDICT Executive and is a past chair of PREDICT. She is an active researcher, both within PREDICT and with local Western Australian collaborators. She has a particular interest in intranasal fentanyl for acute pain, having been instrumental in the initial studies for this therapy in Australia. She also has active studies in acute respiratory conditions (including viral induced wheeze, asthma and croup) and the management of head injuries and abdominal pain in the ED setting. She has been actively involved in the development of the Australasian Bronchiolitis guideline and subsequent research into methods to effectively translate the guideline into clinical practice.
